Dragonslayer MCC , a motorcycle club based at the Whitehills pub in Chester-le-Street, held a presentation night on Sunday, November 20, for two charities, Motor Neuron Disease and Changing Steps (Dave Tindale). Motor Neuron Disease was presented with a cheque for £1,200, the proceeds of a motorcycle rally held at Morpeth RFC.

The money was raised thanks to fellow bikers and raffle tickets sold at the rally also at a memorial ride for one of the club members. The second charity Changing Steps (Dave Tindale) was presented with 12 emergency shoe boxes for homeless veterans in the North East area. The boxes consisted of supplies to help homeless veterans, both men and women, survive over the cold winter period. Each box has hats, gloves ,underwear, sweets, chocolate, toiletries ground sheets and emergency blankets and many other items. The club has supported Dave Tindale over the last few years with his work helping homeless veterans. The club has also just finished supporting three animal rescue centres with its third annual pet food run held on September 18 . With help from fellow bikers, donations from pet shops and the public, members were able to supply dog and cat food as well as bedding blankets and toys. The Dragonslayer MCC vice-chairman Gary Small said members take great pride in the charity work they do to help people and places in need.
