A 14-year-old girl who went missing on Monday March 2 has been found safe and well confirm Durham Constabulary.

Hayley Maddison was reported missing shortly after Noon on Monday March 2, having disappeared along her dog - a tan Shih Tzu dog called Maggie.

Police issued an appeal for help earlier today which was widely shared on social media and by the Sunderland Echo.

It has now been confirmed Durham Constabulary that Hayley has been found safe and well.
