Hide AdThe win took Wheatley back above Durham City Reserves into pole position, clear by two points, with three games to go.
The title favourites are Hall Farm Glasshus, though, as they only trail Wheatley by four points but have three matches in hand.
The Sunderland side will try again to stage their Durham County Minor Cup semi-final against Felling Magpies, at Leyburn Grove in Houghton, tomorrow (1.30pm).
The other semi-final, between Shildon Railway and Stockton West End A was also postponed and they have rearranged for tomorrow.
