Passengers are being warned of delays on the Metro line due to an ambulance attending a station.

Tyne and Wear Metro service tweeted: “There are delays of up to 25 mins to trains running bet Pelaw and South Hylton due to an ambulance attending a train at Brockley Whins.

“A train has been withdrawn from service at Seaburn. Due to this we have a gap in the service to trains running bet Airport & South Hylton.”

Metro staff later said delays were 20 minutes, adding further problems had been caused by a failed train at Seaburn.
