Hour-by-hour weather forecast for Sunderland as cloud and fog set to return later today

Sunderland will enjoy a day full of sunshine as temperatures are expected to reach highs of 14°C on Tuesday (June 1).

According to Met Office forecasters, it will change to cloudy around lunchtime, but it will brighten up again early in the evening.

Patches of fog and low cloud could return to the coast throughout the night and spread inland in the early hours, with minimum temperatures of 10°C predicted for Sunderland.

The Met Office’s summary for the North East on Tuesday says: “A fine and sunny morning for most, with early low cloud burning back to the coast, where it may linger for much of the day. Staying dry and with periods of sunshine through the afternoon. Warm, but cooler on coast. Maximum temperature 24 °C.

"A dry and clear evening with some fog toward the coast. Patches of fog along with low cloud on the coast then spreading inland through the early hours. Minimum temperature 9 °C.”
