A return to Wembley could be on the cards for Sunderland – after they advanced into the semi-final of the Papa John’s Trophy last night

Goals from Aiden McGeady and Charlie Wyke added to an early own-goal and took the Black Cats past MK Dons and into the last four of the competition.

Wembley is now just a game away, but Sunderland have some vital league fixtures to play before they can think about that.
