Sunderland lead at Wembley thanks to a moment of brilliance from Aiden McGeady.

His superb pass in the 58th minute – which you can watch below – released Lynden Gooch and he did it justice with a superb finish past Tranmere Rovers keeper Scott Davies.

Meanwhile, Sunderland have suffered another defensive injury blow, with Tom Flanagan subbed after picking up a knock in the Papa John’s Trophy final.

Flanagan needed to come off with a couple of minutes to go before half-time. The centre-back was getting treatment to his left leg, it appeared to be his calf.
